Arizona Camp Sunrise is a remarkable summer camp dedicated to providing a safe, exciting, and supportive environment for children who have or have had cancer, as well as their siblings. Located in Payson, Arizona, this weeklong sleep-away camp offers a life-changing experience that combines fun, friendship, and empowerment. Operated by the Southwest Kids Cancer Foundation since 1983, the camp is entirely free for participants, ensuring accessibility for families navigating the challenges of pediatric cancer. Campers, aged 3 to 18, enjoy a wide range of activities tailored to their abilities and interests. From hiking and archery to arts and crafts and talent shows, every day is filled with opportunities for adventure and creativity. Evening campfires under the stars foster a sense of community, while programs like low ropes courses encourage teamwork and confidence-building. The camp also hosts unique events such as the "Styro Cup Challenge" and other group games that bring everyone together in laughter and camaraderie. Safety is paramount at Arizona Camp Sunrise. A medically trained staff ensures that all activities are conducted in a secure environment, giving parents peace of mind while their children enjoy the experience of a lifetime. The camp’s inclusive approach extends to siblings, offering them a chance to connect with peers who understand their journey. For families affected by pediatric cancer, Arizona Camp Sunrise is more than just a camp—it’s a sanctuary of hope, joy, and resilience where kids can be kids and create memories that last forever.
