Arizona Running Camp

The Arizona Running Camp, held at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, is an exceptional residential program tailored for 8th–12th grade cross-country runners. Designed to accommodate athletes of all abilities, this camp offers a comprehensive experience focused on improving running performance while fostering a love for the sport. Set against the stunning backdrop of Flagstaff’s high-altitude trails, the camp provides a unique training environment ideal for endurance development. With an 8:1 counselor-to-runner ratio, participants receive personalized guidance during daily workouts, which include runs, strength training, cross-training, and optional advanced sessions. To ensure campers get the most out of the program, it’s recommended they can comfortably run 4–5 miles non-stop. Beyond physical training, the camp emphasizes holistic development through lectures and discussions on topics such as mental toughness, nutrition, racing tactics, hill running, and injury prevention. Guest speakers—including accomplished runners—share insights and inspiration to motivate young athletes. The schedule also includes downtime for socializing and recovery, creating a balanced and enjoyable experience. As a fully residential camp, all meals, dorm accommodations, and activities are included in registration.
