For competitive swimmers eager to refine their skills this summer, the Arizona Nike Swim Camp at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff is a standout choice. With over 20 years of experience and more than 1,700 swimmers trained, this camp offers a unique opportunity to improve stroke technique while enjoying the benefits of high-altitude training. At 6,900 feet, the reduced oxygen levels help athletes increase their red blood cell count, potentially boosting performance at sea level. Campers will train daily at the Wall Aquatic Center, one of the finest high-altitude swimming facilities in the world. The program focuses on stroke refinement across all four competitive strokes—fly, back, breast, and freestyle—through small group and individual instruction. With a low camper-to-staff ratio, participants receive personalized feedback to enhance their swimming mechanics. Beyond the pool, fun evening activities and guest speakers keep the experience engaging. The camp is open to swimmers aged 8-17 with competitive experience. Both overnight and day camp options are available, with sessions running throughout June. For those seeking an extra edge, the optional "Starts & Turns Clinic" offers a deep dive into these critical skills. Each camper receives a Nike Swim Camp T-shirt and swim cap, along with chances to earn merit-based prizes. With spots filling quickly every year, early registration is highly recommended for this high-demand program. Prepare for an unforgettable summer of swimming, learning, and camaraderie in the cool mountain air!
