Days at Bibby Ranch Summer Camp center on hands-on horsemanship. Campers ride, groom horses, learn how to tack up, clean horse tack, and help with stall mucking. Creative activities add variety, including horse painting with non-toxic, washable finger paint and arts-and-crafts projects such as painted horseshoes, plastic horses, and picture frames. The program also includes outdoor choices and a team sport activity, giving children a mix of individual interests and shared group time.
The half-day camp runs from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Bibby Ranch in Escondido. Horse camp is open to ages 6 and older, making it suitable for school-age children and teens who want direct experience with horses. The ranch’s broader riding program emphasizes horsemanship fundamentals and building a bond between horse and rider, while the camp page focuses on practical care alongside riding.
Campers should bring a healthy lunch. Registration is organized by session, and families can reserve by phone or through the camp registration form. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure a space. The combination of riding, horse care, creative projects, and outdoor group activities makes the program a practical fit for children who are especially interested in horses and ranch life.

The camp program blends horseback riding with the everyday work of horsemanship. Campers learn grooming and tacking, clean horse tack, and take part in stall mucking, so time with the horses includes both riding and care. The ranch also uses non-toxic, washable paint for a horse-painting activity, with campers choosing brushes or their fingers. Arts-and-crafts projects include decorating horseshoes, plastic horses, and picture frames.
Beyond the horse-focused activities, campers have additional outdoor choices during the camp week. They choose one activity from the available list for each camp day, while a second group activity is a team sport shared by all campers. This creates a mix of individual choice and group participation without moving away from the ranch setting.
