Trailblazers & Young Naturalists is a four-week holistic summer program offered by Brehm Preparatory School for students ages 8–18 with learning differences. Designed as both an overnight and day program, the experience blends outdoor adventure, experiential academics, and therapeutic support in a safe, structured environment.
Set in the natural landscape of southern Illinois, students engage in adventure learning such as zip lining, hiking, ropes courses, and nature exploration while participating in individualized academic instruction. Instruction integrates Orton-Gillingham literacy support, speech-language therapy, executive functioning skill development, and social-emotional learning.
Small class sizes, certified educators, and ASHA-certified speech-language pathologists ensure each student receives personalized support. The program encourages independence, confidence, self-awareness, and peer connection through hands-on learning and shared experiences.
Trailblazers & Young Naturalists is ideal for families seeking a summer program that supports learning disabilities while fostering growth through exploration, movement, and meaningful connection.
