Camp Awesome is a drop-off beach summer program built around play, exploration, and positive reinforcement. The atmosphere is upbeat and social, with counselors creating an environment where kids feel comfortable trying new things and being themselves. Each day combines physical activity, creative projects, and downtime, helping campers stay energized without feeling rushed.
The program focuses on variety. Campers rotate through beach games, water play, sports-style activities, arts and crafts, and group challenges. Time in the sand is balanced with shaded breaks, meals, and calmer activities, which helps children reset throughout the day. Staff members emphasize encouragement, teamwork, and effort, making the experience welcoming for kids with different personalities and comfort levels.
Families also appreciate the built-in flexibility. Attendance is not limited to full-week commitments, and drop-off and pick-up can happen within operating hours. Parents can stay connected through online updates, which adds transparency and peace of mind. Overall, this program stands out as a well-rounded beach experience that blends freedom, structure, and thoughtful supervision in a setting kids genuinely look forward to returning to each day.

Camp Awesome is a day-only program and does not offer overnight accommodation. All activities take place outdoors at the beach, where campers move between activity zones in the sand, shaded rest areas, and supervised shoreline spaces. Personal items are kept in labeled backpacks that can be fully sealed to protect belongings from sand and water.
The setup is intentionally simple and flexible. Campers arrive dressed for the beach, with swimsuits worn under clothing to allow easy transitions into water play. Towels are used during breaks and rest periods, and shade is incorporated throughout the day to give kids time to cool down. This outdoor-only format is ideal for families seeking a classic beach day experience rather than an indoor or residential setting.
Meals at Camp Awesome are brought from home. Campers should arrive each day with a packed lunch, plenty of snacks, and a refillable water bottle to stay fueled and hydrated during active beach days. Families are encouraged to pack more than they think their child might need, as physical activity often increases appetite.
The program promotes environmentally friendly habits and encourages waste-free lunches. Reusable containers, bottles, utensils, and cloth napkins are recommended to reduce trash. Insulated lunch bags help keep food fresh in warm weather. On Fridays, campers may participate in an optional Pizza Friday lunch for an additional cost, though families should still pack drinks and any extra snacks their child may want.
Safety is a core priority at Camp Awesome, especially given the beach environment. Campers are supervised at all times by trained staff who clearly define boundaries for play and movement. Water activities are carefully controlled and adapted based on age group and current conditions. Campers do not need to know how to swim to participate.
During water time, staff maintain close supervision by positioning themselves around the group and limiting how far campers may enter the water. The program operates near an active lifeguard tower and coordinates directly with on-duty lifeguards before entering the shoreline. Campers who choose not to get wet remain fully included, with dedicated staff supervising alternative activities on the sand.
Restroom use is handled with care. Counselors escort campers to public restrooms and support inclusive use based on each child’s identity. Families may be notified if staff notice anything that should be shared. All staff members are CPR and First Aid certified, and parents can communicate with the team throughout the day via a dedicated app.
Camp Awesome takes a proactive and thoughtful approach to camper health. Families are encouraged to clearly communicate any allergies, especially if emergency medication such as an EpiPen is required. Bags should be clearly labeled, and staff should be reminded at drop-off so everyone is aware and prepared.
Sun protection is an important part of daily routines. Campers should arrive with sunscreen already applied, and families may send additional sunscreen, hats, rash guards, or lightweight layers. Staff support regular sunscreen reapplication and plan time in shaded areas. If a child has special needs or requires accommodations, families are encouraged to connect with the team ahead of time so the program can offer the safest and most supportive experience possible.
Camp Awesome builds a strong sense of community through simple, kid-friendly traditions. Siblings in different age groups are welcome to spend time together during sand activities and lunch, which helps families with multiple children feel connected. For safety reasons, age groups separate during water time, but the rest of the day encourages shared experiences.
Older campers may take on a Pro Camper role, acting as positive role models for younger participants. These campers help lead games, assist with arts and crafts, and contribute to a welcoming group atmosphere. It’s a tradition that gives older kids a sense of responsibility while reinforcing kindness, teamwork, and confidence across the group.
The activities program at Camp Awesome is designed to keep kids moving, curious, and socially engaged throughout the day. A rotating schedule blends high-energy play with creative and restorative moments, helping campers stay balanced and happy. Counselors adapt activities based on group energy, weather, and individual comfort levels.
Beach games and sand play form the backbone of the day, supported by group sports, movement challenges, and imaginative play. Arts and crafts sessions offer a quieter contrast, giving kids time to focus and create. Water activities are playful rather than skill-based, centered on splashing, exploring, and cooling off under close supervision. Positive reinforcement is woven into every activity, helping campers feel proud of their effort and participation.
Optional food and treats require campers to bring their own cash and manage it independently. Swimming skills are not required, as water activities are closely supervised and adapted for safety.
