Camp Farnsworth

Embarking on a transformative journey at Camp Farnsworth offers an enriching blend of summer excursions appealing to young explorers across the stretch of elementary to high school. Situated against the captivating backdrop of Thetford, Vermont, this camp aims to inspire young women through a multifaceted mix of activities spanning from the thrill of horseback riding and windsurfing to the serenity of canoeing and hiking. The array of programs, spanning four days to two weeks, prioritizes flexibility, thus allowing the Girl Scouts to tailor their unique expedition according to their preferences. Be it the curiosity of an aspiring archer, the creative urge in a budding artist, or the leadership spirit of a future mentor, Camp Farnsworth provides something enticing for every adventurous heart. Unforgettable memories are made around the campfire singing sessions, lake-canoeing adventures, and communal dining, fostering bonds and friendships within this mini-society of like-minded young females. Furthermore, the scholars from grade 9 upwards are given the opportunity to step into leadership roles, such as a Camp Aide or Counselor in Training (CIT), adding invaluable experience to their resume while savoring the joys of summer. With the introduction of the Program Interns experience, the older campers now have the platform to venture deeper into the different areas around the camp, quenching their thirst for knowledge even more. At the end of the journey, as they leave Camp Farnsworth, they take along not only a backpack full of memories but the confidence and skills forged during this great summer adventure.
