Cooper Landing, AK, USA

Overview

Camp K on Kenai Lake, Alaska’s longest-running co-ed overnight camp, offers an unforgettable summer experience for children and teens aged 6 to 17. Located in Cooper Landing within the breathtaking Chugach National Forest, this 160-acre campus is a haven for outdoor exploration and creative expression. With a half-mile beach along Kenai Lake, campers can enjoy activities like canoeing, kayaking, swimming, and hiking—all while taking in the stunning natural beauty of "wild Alaska." The camp’s diverse sessions cater to all interests. Traditional Camp sessions are packed with fun and friendship, featuring arts and crafts, field games, and team-building activities. Specialty weeks like Arts Week allow campers to create nature-inspired art or perform in end-of-session plays. For adventurers, Outdoor Living Skills sessions teach fire building, shelter making, and Leave No Trace principles. Older campers can join Expedition Camp for wilderness experiences like glacier hikes and kayaking through Halibut Cove. Camp K also emphasizes personal growth and community. Under the guidance of skilled counselors, campers build confidence, develop leadership skills, and form lasting friendships. Evening campfires filled with songs and skits foster a sense of belonging and fun. Brand-new cabins with indoor plumbing provide comfort after action-packed days. Round-trip transportation from Anchorage and Girdwood makes getting to camp easy for families. Whether it’s learning survival skills or simply skipping rocks by the lake, Camp K promises memories that will last a lifetime.
