Overview
Venture into the great outdoors with your family at Camp Tekakwitha, a haven for young adventurers. With a legacy lasting over 65 years, this French-speaking camp in the heart of Maine has been a home away from home for numerous families, striking the perfect balance between intimate and adventurous.
Limited to 120 children aged 8 to 13 and a select group of 72 teenagers dubbed the 'Pioneers', Tekakwitha ensures a wholesome, family-like atmosphere. The Pioneers, although having their own dedicated area, remain a vital part of the camp life, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
Tekakwitha's offerings are as diverse as they are exciting. From baseball, basketball, and lacrosse to hiking, kayaking, and scuba diving — there's an activity to ignite every child's passion. Set amidst nature's splendor, every game and adventure is an opportunity to explore and appreciate the great outdoors.
Beyond regular activities, Tekakwitha spices up its program with special events. Whether it's a day at the ocean, a thrilling camping experience, the excitement of a circus, or the friendly competition of the Olympics, each event is a new adventure that keeps the spirit of fun alive.
And for the Pioneers, the highlight of their stay could well be the 7 to 17-day hike on the famous Appalachian Trail. A challenge to test their mettle and create memories that last a lifetime, this is an experience your teenager would be proud to undertake. At Tekakwitha, the journey is all about creating stories worth telling – of friendships, adventures, and unforgettable family vacations.
