Steeped in history and geared towards nurturing the leaders of tomorrow, the Catholic Youth Center (CYC) stands as a prominent beacon in the realm of childhood development. For nearly six decades, it has offered a nurturing platform for countless youths, and by doing so, it has become an integral part of Wilkes-Barre and its neighboring communities. The CYC, established in 1948, has fostered a sense of exploration and growth in life's numerous spheres, not confining itself to a single discipline. Ebbing and flowing with the times, it has expanded its infrastructure to include a gymnasium and a swimming pool in 1959 while the 70s saw a further enhancement with the acquisition of additional land. This paved the way for more dynamic inclusions such as outdoor basketball and tennis courts and a playground area. True to its ever-evolving nature, the center also boasts a state-of-the-art Aquatic Center, an additional gymnasium, a remodeled primary gymnasium, and a beautiful park behind the facility -- all occupying a land area of 2-1/2 acres in the heart of downtown Wilkes-Barre. So, whether it's shooting hoops, performing a perfect somersault, splashing about in the water, or engaging in a high-paced game of tennis, the CYC provides an environment where fun and skills build the stepping stones for your child's future.
