Overview

Basketball, beach volleyball, baseball performance training, and speech and debate give families several distinct ways to explore Canyon Crest Academy Foundation programs. The Foundation’s camp listing brings together athletic and academic choices on and around the Canyon Crest Academy campus in San Diego. Rather than one all-purpose camp day, each activity follows its own schedule, participation rules, and registration option.

Young athletes can choose from a co-ed fall basketball league, a boys basketball clinic, and boys beach volleyball. The volleyball program combines practices on the CCA sand courts with Thursday matches that may take place at home or away. Baseball performance training focuses on strength, speed, agility, power, and proper lifting technique under coach-led instruction. The basketball programs use the CCA Gym and Auxiliary Gym.

For students drawn to speaking and argument, the North County Middle School Debate Club is an in-person, after-school academic option. Students work with members of CCA’s speech and debate team through coaching and judged practice rounds, with opportunities to compete in online tournaments. Published grade eligibility differs by option: the debate club covers grades 4–8, while the listed basketball league and clinic cover grades 9–12. Families can select the individual activity that matches their student’s interests and published eligibility.

Program

Families choose a distinct program rather than a single rotating activity schedule. The current athletic listing includes a co-ed basketball league for boys and girls in grades 9–12, a boys basketball clinic for the same grades, and boys beach volleyball. The basketball offerings use the CCA Gym and Auxiliary Gym. Beach volleyball practices take place at the campus sand courts; Thursday matches may be held at CCA or at another venue.

Baseball Fall Performance Camp uses coach-led training focused on strength, speed, agility, power, and proper lifting technique. Its published schedule spans several afternoons and evenings each week. The academic listing adds the North County Middle School Debate Club for grades 4–8. CCA speech and debate team members lead an in-person, after-school program combining coaching, judged practice, and exposure to several speech and debate event formats.

Debate club participants also have the opportunity to enter online National Circuit tournaments. Its curriculum involves writing, public speaking, critical thinking, and research, with students speaking and debating from the first meeting. Each named option has its own stated meeting days, hours, fees, and registration link.
