FC Barcelona Soccer Camp Wilmington is a day soccer camp for boys and girls ages 6 to 17. The program is designed for players who want more than a casual summer sports week. Campers train with official FC Barcelona coaches and learn through the Barça Academy methodology, which focuses on technical quality, smart decision-making, teamwork, and confidence on the ball.
The camp runs as a five-day soccer experience with daily training, methodology sessions, practice games, competitions, and feedback. Goalkeepers also have access to specific goalkeeper sessions with a goalkeeper coach. Players are grouped by age and skill level on the first day, and groups may be adjusted after coaches see how each camper plays.
The atmosphere is active, structured, and soccer-centered. Campers spend much of the day training, competing, and learning how to read the game. It will likely appeal to kids who already love soccer, especially players who want to improve their technique, understand a more possession-based style of play, or experience training connected to FC Barcelona.
This camp can work for recreational players who want a memorable soccer week and for more serious players who enjoy focused coaching. It is best for kids who are ready for several hours of outdoor soccer each day.

FC Barcelona Soccer Camp Wilmington is a day-only camp. Campers attend during the day and return home after the daily program. Overnight accommodation is not included in the camp registration.
The camp is held at UNC Wilmington. Families should plan daily drop-off and pick-up for the full week. The regular schedule runs from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM each day, with a final ceremony usually held on the last day around 1:00 PM. The daily rhythm includes training sessions, breaks, lunch, competition, and feedback before departure.
Hotel support may be available through collaborating hotels, but lodging is not part of the standard camp package. Families who need a hotel should make those arrangements separately. Early drop-off and late pick-up are presented as possible add-on services, so families needing extra time around the camp day should check availability during registration.
Campers need to bring a packed lunch each day. Lunch is scheduled from 11:45 AM to 12:30 PM, so players should arrive with food that is easy to eat during the short midday break. A healthy snack is also highly recommended.
Players should bring an individual water bottle. Water is available during the day between sessions so campers can stay hydrated. Isotonic drinks such as Powerade or Gatorade are also recommended, especially because the schedule includes several hours of soccer training and competition.
Lunch is shown as an optional service in the camp add-on section, but the packing instructions tell players to bring a packed lunch. Families should plan for lunch from home unless they purchase or receive confirmation of a lunch option during registration. Campers should also bring sunscreen and be ready for outdoor training conditions.
The camp uses a structured daily schedule with training blocks, breaks, lunch, competition, and feedback. Players are grouped by age and skill level on the first day, and coaches may move them between groups after assessing their skill level. This helps keep training more appropriate for each child’s ability and pace.
Parents and guardians may stay to watch training sessions, but they must remain in a designated area so the sessions can continue without interruption. This keeps the field organized and helps players focus on the coaches and their groups.
In case of bad weather, campers move off the field to a designated shelter area. If camp is canceled after the day has started, families must return to the field and pick up their player. Indoor facilities are not available to house players for the rest of the day. Campers should bring soccer cleats, shin guards, sunscreen, water, and the required training kit.
A licensed athletic trainer takes care of participants during camp in case of injury or damage. All campers must have their own medical coverage. The camp provides excess coverage only after the camper’s own insurance has been used, and it does not cover deductibles.
Families are responsible for costs related to medical attention and treatment except for costs covered by the camp’s excess medical coverage policy. This is important for a soccer camp because players spend several hours each day running, training, competing, and playing outdoors.
Campers should come prepared for the physical demands of the day. Required and recommended items include soccer cleats, shin guards, an individual water bottle, packed lunch, sunscreen, the full training kit, a healthy snack, and isotonic drinks. Hydration is built into the day through water breaks between sessions.
Camp traditions
FC Barcelona Soccer Camp Wilmington has several built-in moments that make the week feel different from a regular soccer clinic. Each day begins with an initial ceremony or group distribution, followed by training sessions, breaks, lunch, competition, and feedback. This gives the camp a clear rhythm and a professional feel.
The final day includes a final ceremony, usually around 1:00 PM. Campers also receive an FC Barcelona Soccer Camp certified diploma after completing the camp. Prizes and awards are given to selected players who stand out during the week.
The camp’s identity is strongly tied to the Barça Academy training style. Campers learn a methodology associated with FC Barcelona’s development model and hear the names of players such as Leo Messi, Sergio Busquets, Lamine Yamal, and Xavi Hernández connected to that tradition. For kids who follow world soccer, that connection can make the week feel especially memorable.
The activities program is built around the FC Barcelona training methodology. Campers train for five days with official FC Barcelona coaches and take part in daily soccer sessions that focus on skill, decision-making, teamwork, and game understanding. The schedule includes training sessions, goalkeeper sessions on most days, practice games, snack breaks, lunch, competition, and feedback. Friday ends with a final ceremony instead of regular departure feedback.
Players are grouped by age and skill level, which helps coaches adjust the pace and expectations. After the first day, players may move between groups based on their skill level. The format is best for kids who want to touch the ball often, learn from licensed coaches, and play in a structured soccer environment. Goalkeepers also get position-specific training, which is useful for players who want more focused keeper development.
