Game Worlds Camp offers a week-long immersive program where kids and teens learn how real video games are made — from idea to playable project. Under the guidance of experienced game developers, campers explore both the artistic and technical sides of game design: coding, digital art, animation, sound, storytelling, and collaborative teamwork. The camp caters to beginners and more experienced participants alike, making it a welcoming space for kids who already love games and those who want to learn something new.
The atmosphere is creative, collaborative, and focused on hands-on learning. Small teams (about 3–6 campers per game-project team) let each participant play a meaningful role — whether as artist, coder, designer, or storyteller. Guest presentations from professional developers give real-world insight and motivation. At the end of the week, teams pitch and demo their games to a panel, building confidence and pride. That sense of achievement — creating a game you can actually play — makes Game Worlds special.
Game Worlds is best suited for children and teens between 8 and 18 years of age, especially those who enjoy video games, art, technology, storytelling or working with friends. The camp offers a balanced blend of creative expression, technical learning, and social collaboration — ideal for curious, creative kids ready for a fun challenge.

Game Worlds Camp is a day camp — no overnight accommodation, dormitory, or lodging is provided. Campers attend during the day (standard hours are 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with a Friday closing party lasting until 9:00 PM) and return home after each day.
Extended-hour options (early drop-off or late pick-up) are available for families who need added flexibility, but they do not include sleeping or overnight care.
The camp provides a healthy catered lunch each day for all campers, along with snacks and drinks during breaks.
If a child has dietary restrictions or food allergies, families are asked to indicate these in the registration form so the camp can accommodate them as needed.
Campers are also allowed to bring their own snacks or personal lunch if preferred — though the catered lunch is included in the program.
Game Worlds maintains a staff-to-student ratio of 1 adult for every 4 campers during instructional and project times, ensuring close supervision and support.
Each day begins with a controlled sign-in process and ends with a secure sign-out, allowing the camp to manage pick-ups and drop-offs safely.
For free-time or personal electronic devices that children bring (e.g. games for downtime), campers must check them in at morning sign-in. This helps ensure that devices are safe and that content is appropriate for all participants.
Additionally, the camp requests that parents indicate any severe allergies or medical conditions in registration — especially if a child requires an EpiPen — so that staff are aware and prepared for emergencies.
If a camper has special health needs — such as allergies requiring an EpiPen — the parent or guardian must supply the medication and complete the relevant health forms at check-in.
Game Worlds states that these accommodations are possible if notified in advance, enabling staff to appropriately support campers with medical or dietary needs.
For routine first aid or minor incidents, the camp’s supervision and procedures help manage situations, though detailed public descriptions of on-site infirmary or medical staffing are not provided. Families with ongoing medical concerns may wish to contact the camp directly before registration.
Rather than traditional “camp-y” rituals, Game Worlds builds community through its own creative traditions. A major hallmark is the Friday showcase and game competition, where each team presents its completed game to a panel of judges — often including professional game developers. This event boosts confidence, celebrates creativity, and gives kids a tangible achievement to share with friends and family.
After the showcase, the week wraps up with a pizza-and-gaming party, where campers relax, play together, and celebrate their hard work and new friendships.
These end-of-week events combine recognition, community, and fun — forming the core traditions of Game Worlds Camp.
Game Worlds Camp runs a whole week of creative, collaborative game development. Campers work in small teams to build a fully playable video game from concept through design, coding, art, sound, and testing — culminating in a final presentation and demo for judges. The program blends education and fun, giving kids real exposure to game-industry processes while encouraging creativity and teamwork.
During the week, campers rotate through various roles — artist, programmer, sound designer, level designer — to learn how different parts of a game come together. Guest instructors from the game-development community bring real-world insight and help campers think like developers. By Friday, each group presents a playable game and, in many cases, wins recognition, prizes, or feedback from industry judges.
A standard deposit is required to reserve a spot at registration.
Discounts are offered (early registration, siblings, multi-week or multi-session bundles) under certain conditions.
Families must declare any dietary restrictions or medical needs during registration to ensure proper accommodation.
If a child requires special medication or allergy support (e.g. EpiPen), this must be provided at check-in.
The game project source files and a video of the final presentation are shared with parents after camp ends.
