Golden Performing Arts Center’s summer program centers on creating a musical theatre production with children and preteens. It runs on a structured weekday schedule and combines focused rehearsals with theatre games, creative activities, and outdoor fun. Whether a child is outgoing or shy, experienced or brand new to performing, every participant is welcomed and given an active role in the process.
Throughout the session, students work together to rehearse a licensed, age-appropriate musical production. This is a day camp held at the Golden Performing Arts Center. There is no overnight stay, and children return home at the end of each program day. All activities take place on site, within the Center’s dedicated performing arts spaces.
The location is set up specifically for creative programs, with rehearsal rooms, stage areas, and indoor spaces designed for group work and movement. The day is structured so children move comfortably between rehearsals, theatre games, and breaks, without needing to leave the facility. This setting works well for families looking for a focused, arts-based day program in a familiar studio environment.
Meals are not provided as part of the program. Families may send their child with snacks to enjoy during scheduled breaks. This allows parents to choose food that fits their child’s preferences or dietary needs. It’s best to plan for simple, easy-to-manage snacks and ensure children arrive ready for a full, active day.
