HYC SummerSongs

Looking for a summer camp where your child can build confidence, make new friends, and experience the joy of music? Heartland Youth Choir’s SummerTunes and SummerSongs camps offer an engaging, high energy week filled with singing, creativity, teamwork, and fun.

Our camps are designed for children who love to sing, as well as those who are simply curious about music and performing. No prior choir experience is required! Campers will spend the week learning fun and age appropriate songs, developing musical skills, playing interactive games, and participating in movement activities that bring music to life.

SummerTunes is designed for singers who have completed Kindergarten through 3rd grade. This half day camp introduces young singers to group music making in a joyful and encouraging environment. Campers explore rhythm, melody, and basic vocal technique while building confidence and making new friends.

SummerSongs is designed for students who have completed 4th through 8th grade. This full day camp offers a deeper musical experience with ensemble singing, skill building workshops, team building activities, and creative learning sessions. In addition to making music together, SummerSongs campers enjoy exciting off site experiences throughout the week. Past outings have included trips to Adventureland, Blue Zoo, bowling, and other DSM local favorites. These shared adventures help campers build friendships, create lasting memories, and strengthen the sense of community that makes camp week so special.

Throughout the week, students are guided by experienced and caring music educators who are passionate about helping every child feel seen, supported, and successful. Our focus goes beyond music. We nurture confidence, creativity, responsibility, and connection.

The week concludes with a celebratory performance where campers share what they have learned with family and friends. It is a joyful highlight and a wonderful way for children to feel proud of their hard work.
