Overview

LJCC’s summer camp program is built around variety, inclusion, and community spirit. On a large, leafy campus, kids of many ages come together to explore sports, arts, fitness, and creative programs — all under the guidance of experienced, caring staff. The atmosphere is welcoming and dynamic, balancing structured activities (like tennis, basketball, flag football, lacrosse, soccer) with free play, arts, and community-building. Because the camp offers specialty tracks (sports & tennis, performing & visual arts, general day-camp) plus leadership or teen-oriented options, it appeals to a broad range of children — from preschoolers to middle schoolers and early teens.

Younger children often enjoy day-camp basics: games, arts and crafts, playground and pool time, and general socializing. Older kids benefit from sports camps and skill development in athletics. For kids who like variety or want to try something new — sports one week, arts the next — there’s flexibility and rich activity mix. If your child likes being active, creative, or just hanging out with friends in a structured but fun environment, this camp has something for them.

Safety

LJCC emphasizes a supervised, secure environment for all campers. Staff are trained to provide careful oversight during both indoor and outdoor activities. The camp groups children by age for many activities, which helps ensure appropriate supervision and minimize risks. For specialty sports camps, experienced coaches run sessions to promote safe play and skill-appropriate guidance.

Furthermore, the community-center setting supports controlled access: all entries and exits are managed through the JCC campus. While there are no publicly detailed “safety manual” excerpts, the long-standing reputation of the community center and its organized approach to summer programming suggest that standard safety protocols are enforced.

Activities Program

The activities program at Levine JCC Summer Camps is designed to give children a summer full of variety, movement, creativity, skill-building, and fun. Each day includes a rotation of activities, ensuring that campers experience both structured learning and relaxed recreation time. Sports camps follow curriculum-based training led by experienced coaches, while arts camps provide hands-on creative sessions that allow children to express themselves through drama, visual arts, and music. General day-camp programs blend outdoor play, team games, crafts, and pool time for a classic camp experience.

This flexible approach allows families to choose the best fit for their child each week, with options to focus on sports, arts, or a broader mix of activities. The program structure encourages confidence, cooperation, and exploration as campers try new skills and build friendships.
