Mad Science camps are for young scientists ages 5-12. They learn and explore and experiment with fun, hands-on science. Camps are week long with options for full or half days. book directly at nephoenix.madscience.org/parents-camps
Astro Innovators: Campers use creative and collaborative skills to design a mission patch, train
like an astronaut, and solve real-world engineering problems using spinoff technology, just like NASA astronauts working together on a mission. They propose answers to questions like “How could space suit cooling tubes be used to solve a problem here on Earth? How could robotic arms help make our world a better place?” Then, they create a storyboard and presentation to share their spinoff project and work on their science communication skills.
Chemicals, Cells, and Crime: Turn chemistry inside and out in this hands-on summer science adventure! Campers will be looking closely at cells and stepping away to see the big picture. From the organ systems that make our bodies work to using chemical reactions to solve a crime, campers explore a composition of science knowledge and scientific techniques.
Crazy Chemworks: Children make gooey slime, experiment with different reactions and learn to use the tools that chemists use. Polymers and catalysts are only two of the fascinating concepts young scientists explore in this thrilling trip through the chemistry lab!
Eureka!: Enjoy a week of fun-filled, hands-on, invention-themed activities highlighting inventors that changed our world through their explorations. With a bit of ingenuity, children work through challenges using basic materials, simple machines, and the best tool of all, their minds. Features cool gadgets that kids design and make!
Moving with Science: Do your kids love to build, design and fix things? Are they curious about how a reaction happens? What is the true nature of birds and beasts? Campers explore activities in engineering, math, chemistry, and biology that they could encounter in their daily life. They will see just how natural science is in our world!
Robot Recruit: Grades 2-6 Join us for a week of fun with amazing robots! In this full week of half-days, learn about the uses of robots in our world and spend time working on real robots. Discover the science of circuits, experiment with robotic sensors and program them to interact with your world! Use your skills to build your very own working robotic device to take home with you!
Rockin’ Rockets: From the earliest flying machines to the first rocket flights, this hands-on program for children ages 7–12 will allow them to build many different flying devices, see how Newton’s Laws of motion help explain how things move, and how rockets fly. Children will also see how amazing our Milky Way is.
Science Explorations: Join in a week of fun, from sending secret messages to using science to protect our planet. Campers will experience how sports follow Newton’s laws, and act as astronauts to explore the mysteries of the solar system.
Underground Explorers: Learn about archaeology and the techniques scientists use to excavate long lost cities! Discover ancient civilizations and the tools and artifacts they used in everyday life! Study bone fragments, pottery shards, amber deposits, and fossils; understand what they can tell us about history! Make and take-home projects each day, like a fossil reproduction, an amber time capsule, and coins fromaround the world!
