Meals
Campers bring their own lunches and water bottles each day. The camp provides afternoon snacks. Families are encouraged to pack nutritious meals that can be eaten outdoors or in the shaded picnic areas. The camp maintains a nut-free policy and accommodates dietary restrictions when possible. Drinking water is available throughout the day, and staff ensure kids stay hydrated during outdoor play.
Safety
Mountain Camp Marin prioritizes camper safety through structured supervision and age-appropriate programming. The counselor-to-camper ratio remains low, enabling staff to provide each child with personal attention and support. All counselors receive training in emergency response, child supervision, and inclusive care.
The campus itself is secure, with designated pick-up and drop-off zones, safety gates, and controlled access throughout the day. Activities are designed to strike a balance between challenge and safety, and the staff continually monitors weather and environmental conditions. First aid and emergency procedures are clearly established and reviewed daily.
Health & Medicine
A first aid station is available on-site, and staff are trained to handle minor injuries and basic medical needs. Any medications required during the camp day must be checked in with the office or health supervisor. The camp adheres to standard health and hygiene practices, including frequent hand washing and sanitizing of shared spaces.
Families are asked to provide up-to-date health forms and emergency contact information before the start of camp. Any specific medical accommodations or allergy management plans should be communicated directly to camp staff before the session begins.
Camp Traditions
Mountain Camp Marin is built around laughter, teamwork, and camp spirit. Each day begins with an all-camp gathering, full of cheers and games, that sets the tone for the day. Theme days, team challenges, and creative performances help campers express themselves and bond with their groups.
End-of-week celebrations often feature skits, songs, or talent showcases where campers can perform and share their favorite moments from the week. Traditions like “cabin spirit competitions” and the signature closing circle help create a sense of belonging that lasts long after summer ends.
