At Movie Makers summer camp, young filmmakers get the chance to step into the exciting world of movie production. Since 2001, Movie Makers has been the Triangle’s go-to destination for kids, teens, and adults who are passionate about acting and filmmaking. This camp offers a hands-on experience where campers take on multiple roles—acting, writing, directing, and even working behind the camera. Throughout the week-long camp, participants will collaborate to create their very own movie. Starting with a theme for the week, campers will develop characters, design sets, and learn about costumes and make-up. They’ll also receive a crash course in camera work and filming techniques using professional digital video equipment. By the end of the week, they’ll have produced a full movie! The fun doesn’t stop there—after camp ends, families are invited to an outdoor premiere party where everyone can watch the finished movie on a big screen. Each camper will also receive a digital copy of their film to keep. For aspiring filmmakers and actors ages 6-17, Movie Makers is the perfect place to explore creativity, build confidence, and learn every aspect of the movie-making process in a fun and supportive environment.
