Accommodation
Campers choosing the overnight option stay in on-campus dorms, either Silverado or Wilson. Rooms are shared — two campers per room — offering a comfortable and manageable living arrangement. Camp leadership assigns rooms based on age and any mutual roommate request submitted at least 14 days before camp begins; if no request is made, kids are teamed with someone close in age. Bathrooms are shared, giving a communal but straightforward living structure typical of youth sports camps. Linens are not provided — campers should bring a sleeping bag or twin-XL sheets, a pillow with a pillowcase, and a towel. Because the dorms are not air-conditioned, getting a personal fan is recommended to stay comfortable during warmer evenings. Staff members live in the dorms as well, ensuring supervision and support throughout the night.
Meals
For overnight campers, all meals are provided, covering breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks during camp days. Day-campers receive lunch during camp sessions. Camp organizers request that campers bring their own reusable water bottles and appropriate snacks, especially given the active outdoor lacrosse schedule. Hydration and balanced nutrition are emphasized to support the physical demands of drills, games, and training sessions. Families are encouraged to pack healthy, energy-sustaining meals and snacks to keep their children energized throughout the day.
Safety
Safety is a founding principle at the camp. On-field activities are run with a strong coach-to-player ratio of about 1:10, enabling coaches to closely monitor technique and supervise drills and games. Use of required protective gear — helmets, mouthguards, pads, cleats — is enforced to reduce injury risk. Campers are grouped by age and skill level to ensure fair play and minimize mismatches. Dorm supervision is handled by adult staff who reside on campus throughout the camp, providing oversight during all hours including nights. The camp’s policies prohibit drugs, alcohol, or tobacco, and misconduct or safety violations may result in dismissal without refund. Nights and daily transitions are supervised carefully to ensure a respectful and secure environment for all participants.
Health & Medicine
The camp maintains access to an on-site athletic trainer during sessions, ready to respond to common sports-related injuries, illnesses, or emergencies. If a more serious medical situation arises, a plan is in place to transport the camper to the nearest hospital. The camp requires completion of health and release forms before attendance, and parents or guardians must disclose any allergies, medical conditions, or special care needs. Protective gear and hydration are mandatory, and staff encourage responsible behavior, rest, and sun-safety practices during outdoor activities.
Camp Traditions
Nike Lacrosse Camp at Stevenson builds community through traditions of teamwork, recognition, and camaraderie. Every camper receives a reversible Nike practice jersey. Over the week, coaches award prizes for outstanding play, improvement, and sportsmanship — celebrating effort and growth as much as performance. Evening scrimmages, team games, and group drills help campers bond, make new friends, and enjoy the social side of lacrosse. The mix of structured training, shared meals, team assignments, and communal living creates a sense of belonging, which many campers cite as a highlight. For many, the camp becomes a memorable summer tradition — a mix of sport, friendship, and growth.
