Overview
With a focus on tradition, North Dakota Farmers Union Summer Camp offers a delightful blend of recreational activities and real-life learning experiences. This is not just a destination for kids to unwind and engage in fun-filled activities like sports, swimming, dancing, and crafts, but also a place where they get to learn about the cooperative business model, and understand issues affecting their generation.
The camp operates at different locations in North Dakota, providing a change of scenery and a diverse learning environment for the young minds. For students of grades 7-12, a 5-day, 4-night Senior Camp is held at Heart Butte Camp on Lake Tschida near Elgin, ND. This is a chance for them to step into the shoes of store owners, selling snacks, beverages, and camp souvenirs, thereby gaining hands-on experience in running a small business.
The younger ones, who have completed grades 3-6, attend a 4-day, 3-night Junior camp either at Heart Butte Camp by Elgin or Wesley Acres Bible Camp by Valley City. The camp experience is enriched with campfires, theme nights, and songs that echo in the air, creating a joyous atmosphere.
North Dakota Farmers Union Summer Camp is a magical mix of traditional camp activities and learning experiences.
