O-D Camp at Winthrop University blends high-level instruction with real football insight from experienced coaches. Athletes train under the guidance of college coaches and, at times, NFL professionals, along with guest speakers who bring added perspective to the field. The atmosphere is serious yet motivating, encouraging players to ask questions, refine their technique, and understand the game beyond basic drills.
Daily sessions go beyond standard practice. In addition to position-specific training, campers may participate in evening chalk talks or film study, where plays are broken down, and strategy is discussed in detail. At selected locations, specialized instruction in kicking, long snapping, and special teams adds depth for athletes interested in those roles. A live recruiting seminar with a college representative gives older players insight into the next level of competition.
Live-play competitions are evaluated, and athletes receive written feedback to help guide improvement. Streaming services and live social media engagement add a modern element to the experience, allowing players to feel part of a larger football community. A full-time camp store is also available during the event. The camp welcomes athletes ages 6–18, with instruction adapted by age and ability so each participant can develop skills while staying appropriately challenged.

Overnight campers stay in supervised campus housing, offering a structured residential experience in a collegiate setting. Living on campus allows athletes to remain immersed in the football atmosphere while building camaraderie with teammates outside of training sessions.
Mini Camp Day and Mega Camp Day participants attend scheduled training sessions and return home each afternoon. Mega Camp Extended Day includes longer daily programming but does not include overnight lodging.
Residential campers follow an organized daily routine that balances practice blocks, meals, and supervised downtime. Staff oversee housing areas to maintain structure and accountability throughout the stay.
Meal arrangements depend on the selected camp format. Mini Camp Day and Mega Camp Day participants receive lunch during camp hours, allowing athletes to refuel between sessions.
Mega Camp Extended Day and Overnight participants receive both lunch and dinner to support the extended training schedule and longer on-campus time.
Structured instruction and controlled drills support safe participation throughout camp. Coaches emphasize proper mechanics before increasing drill intensity, particularly during competitive sessions.
Athletes are grouped by age and ability to maintain balanced matchups and appropriate physical demands. Organized rotations and clearly communicated expectations help keep sessions orderly and focused.
Staff monitor exertion levels and reinforce sportsmanship and discipline. The structured training environment supports both development and overall well-being.
The daily program focuses entirely on football development. Campers rotate through position-based instruction blocks where coaches break down stance, alignment, timing, and execution. Repetition builds consistency and reinforces proper technique.
Speed and agility segments improve balance, explosiveness, and reaction time. Controlled competitive drills simulate game situations while maintaining structure and oversight. Coaches provide direct feedback, allowing athletes to adjust in real time.
Younger players concentrate on mastering fundamentals and building confidence. Older athletes encounter faster-paced drills and more advanced competition. The structured schedule balances instruction with intensity to maintain steady engagement.
