O-D Camp at Colorado School of Mines feels different from a typical summer camp the moment athletes step onto the field. The setting alone — a real college campus — raises the level of focus. Players are there for one purpose: to get better at football.
Instead of general sports activities, the entire day revolves around position-specific development. Campers work within their role groups, learning what their position truly demands. Quarterbacks refine mechanics and decision-making. Receivers sharpen routes and timing. Linemen focus on leverage and technique. Defensive players develop coverage skills and reaction speed. Every drill connects directly to real game situations.
The camp serves athletes ages 6–18, with instruction adapted by age and ability. Younger players build confidence through structured fundamentals and clear coaching cues. Older athletes participate in more advanced drills, run at a faster tempo, and face stronger competition. Grouping by skill level allows players to improve at a pace that challenges them without overwhelming them.
Families can choose from Mini Camp Day, Mega Camp Day, Mega Camp Extended Day, or Overnight formats. Extended and Overnight options provide additional instruction time and a deeper immersion into the football environment. The overall experience blends discipline, competition, and steady improvement in a setting that feels serious — yet motivating.

The Overnight format allows campers to stay in campus housing, offering a supervised residential experience within a collegiate athletic setting. Living on campus gives athletes additional time together outside the field, strengthening camaraderie and focus.
Day camp participants attend structured training sessions and return home in the afternoon. The Extended Day option provides longer daily programming without overnight lodging.
Residential campers follow a carefully organized schedule that balances training blocks, meals, and supervised downtime. Staff members oversee housing areas to maintain structure and accountability throughout the stay.
Meals depend on the selected camp format.
Mini Camp Day and Mega Camp Day participants receive lunch during camp hours.
Mega Camp Extended Day and Overnight participants receive both lunch and dinner to support the longer training schedule.
Information about detailed menu options or specific dietary accommodations could not be found on the official camp website.

The culture at O-D Camp centers around preparation, effort, and accountability. Each day begins with organized warm-ups that set a focused tone and reinforce discipline.
Competitive drills are integrated into the schedule, allowing players to test their progress in real time. Performance and effort are recognized, encouraging athletes to take ownership of their development.
Respect for teammates, coaches, and the game is emphasized throughout the experience. The college-campus setting reinforces a sense of purpose and ambition, giving athletes a glimpse into higher-level training expectations
The program is built around technical development and live competition. Campers move through position-specific instruction blocks where coaches break down stance, alignment, footwork, and execution. Repetition plays a major role, allowing athletes to reinforce muscle memory and correct errors quickly.
Speed and agility training supports football performance by improving balance, reaction time, and explosiveness. Controlled competitive drills provide opportunities to apply newly learned techniques in realistic scenarios.
Instruction adjusts based on age group. Younger athletes focus on mastering fundamentals and understanding assignments. Older campers work on advanced techniques, situational awareness, and higher-level competition. The structured schedule keeps players engaged while steadily increasing intensity.
