PGC Shooting College is an intensive basketball training program for players entering 7th–12th grade who are serious about improving their shooting. The program combines classroom teaching, film study, and hands-on court work rather than relying on repetitive shooting drills alone. Players learn the habits and decisions that can help them become more effective shooters when the pressure of a real game begins.
A major focus is understanding why a shot works. Participants study shooting habits, footwork, release speed, shooting mechanics, accuracy, and creating space off the dribble. They also learn how to track progress and build a personalized shooting workout. Film featuring high-level NCAA, NBA, and WNBA shooters is used to help players see how particular skills translate to competitive basketball.
The program also addresses the mental side of shooting. Players work on confidence, daily habits, mindset, communication, and the ability to respond constructively to mistakes and setbacks. The camp is designed for dedicated players rather than casual participants, but players do not need to be elite to benefit. Skill-based groups allow participants to train alongside players with comparable experience.
The format is compact and highly focused. Across the program, players move between classroom sessions and gym work, with more than 1,000 shots incorporated into the training experience. By the end, each participant leaves with a structured blueprint for continued shooting development.

PGC Shooting College is a day camp and does not provide overnight accommodation. Players attend scheduled training sessions at the university facility and return home after the day's program.
The day format keeps the focus firmly on basketball development. Participants move between classroom instruction, film sessions, and on-court training rather than following a residential camp schedule. This can work especially well for local players who want an intensive basketball experience without staying away from home.
Because the program is designed as a short, concentrated training experience, families are responsible for arranging lodging if they are traveling to Fullerton from outside the area. The official camp information focuses on the training program and facility rather than providing recommended hotels or residential arrangements.
Meals are not included in the camp tuition. Players should bring their own food for the scheduled meal break each day. The camp specifically advises participants to bring snacks and either a bag lunch or dinner, depending on the day's schedule.
This arrangement gives players flexibility over what they eat during the training day. Families can pack familiar foods and account for individual dietary preferences or restrictions. Players should also bring enough water to stay hydrated during the intensive gym sessions.
Since the program includes substantial on-court activity, having food and water available is particularly important. The meal break provides a chance to refuel before returning to training.
The official camp website does not provide detailed information about specific medical, emergency, or facility safety protocols. It does state that players participate in organized classroom, film, and gym sessions under the direction of the camp staff.
The program is limited to 64–96 players, depending on the gym size. PGC says this smaller enrollment is intended to allow the course director and instructors to know the players personally and provide a more focused experience.
On-court instruction is led by PGC instructors, who provide hands-on guidance during shooting activities. Players should follow staff instructions and established basketball safety practices throughout training.
Families traveling from outside the area should review the camp's current registration information for the latest arrival, dismissal, and emergency procedures before attending.
The PGC Shooting College program follows a clear Hear It – See It – Shoot It – Take It Home approach. Players first learn a shooting concept in the classroom, then study how high-level players use it through film, and finally apply the skill on the court. Training covers both technical details and the mental habits that influence performance, including confidence, consistency, and effective practice routines.
On the court, participants work through shooting drills and game-related situations while receiving individualized instruction. The program also teaches players how to measure progress and create their own structured shooting workouts. Rather than simply encouraging players to take a large number of shots, PGC emphasizes purposeful practice and transferring improvements into games.
By the end of the program, players are expected to leave with a practical shooting-development blueprint they can continue using at home.
The camp is intended for incoming 7th–12th grade players and is designed for dedicated basketball players who genuinely want to improve. Participants are placed into skill-based groups according to experience.
PGC also advertises tuition-protection guarantees. The PGC Promise states that, after completing an entire session, a participant can request a full tuition refund if they do not feel they significantly improved in at least one of the specified development areas. The website also describes a separate satisfaction guarantee with additional compensation, subject to its stated conditions.
