Players can step into a summer tennis program that changes pace and intensity with their age and experience. Sierra Sport & Racquet Club’s summer lineup is hosted by the Fresno Tennis Academy and covers ages 2-15. The main Summer Tennis Camp welcomes all levels for coached drills, games, technique work, and friendly match play. Younger children have a separate PeeWee option with a short, age-specific tennis block, while match-ready juniors can choose a more competitive track.
The program is built around practical time on court. The Fresno Tennis Academy describes its junior training as a progression from strong fundamentals toward advanced technique and sportsmanship, with year-round instruction for beginners through competitive athletes. Match Tough adds drills and conditioning, a challenge ladder, supervised match and point play, and singles and doubles instruction. Its published format is aimed at juniors who can already play matches and want preparation for school or college-level team tennis.
Sessions take place at Sierra Sport & Racquet Club’s Fresno tennis facility, where the club lists 15 lighted tennis courts. Families can choose the program that best matches a child’s stage, from a first PeeWee introduction to an all-level camp or focused competitive play, with separate time blocks for each format.

The summer lineup has three distinct tennis formats. Summer Tennis Camp is the broadest option, serving ages 5-15 and welcoming all skill levels. Published sessions run Monday through Thursday in a 90-minute morning block. Coaching centers on skill development through drills, games, technique practice, and friendly matches, giving newer players a structured introduction while allowing experienced juniors to keep sharpening their game.
PeeWee Summer is designed for ages 2-4 and meets in a shorter Tuesday morning block during the Summer Tennis Camp weeks. It provides a separate entry point for the youngest players rather than placing them into the longer camp format.
Match Tough is the competitive option. It runs Tuesday through Thursday and combines drills and conditioning with a challenge ladder, supervised match and point play, and singles and doubles instruction. The published flyer says players must be able to play matches and describes the program as preparation for middle school, high school, and college-level tennis teams. Across the lineup, the Fresno Tennis Academy supplies the tennis instruction, so families can select a format based on age, current match readiness, and the kind of on-court practice a child needs.
Fresno Tennis Academy leads the junior tennis programming at Sierra Sport & Racquet Club. The official instructor roster lists Teresa Samstag-Haug, Francisco Gonzalez, and Stavro Sophocleous as tennis professionals. Match Tough materials specifically name Francisco Gonzalez and Stavro Sophocleous as coaches, while Teresa Samstag-Haug is the registration contact on the summer camp materials. The broader academy program is presented as instruction for junior players from beginner through competitive levels, with year-round group lessons and personalized instruction available through the academy.
Families are directed to contact the Fresno Tennis Academy professionals before camp to reserve a spot or ask registration questions. The junior-program page names Teresa and Francisco as contacts for more information or sign-up. Summer materials specifically ask families to notify Teresa in advance when using a drop-in option and to submit the completed registration form through Teresa or the club front desk.
Pre-registration is required at least three days before the selected camp starts. Families using a drop-in option are asked to notify Teresa in advance and bring the completed form and payment. The summer materials direct families to print the sign-up form and return it to Teresa or the club front desk. Member camp charges can be placed on the member account, while non-members are instructed to pay by cash or check. Summer Tennis Camp and Match Tough materials also publish a one-time $20 family charge for fitness members and non-members.
Summer Tennis Camp and Match Tough publish separate tennis-member and fitness/non-member rates. Fitness members and non-members also have a one-time $20 family charge for those programs, and non-members are instructed to pay by cash or check.
