Accommodation
Campers stay in rustic wood cabins that blend comfort with a true back-to-nature feel. Each cabin houses 8–10 campers along with two counselors who provide constant supervision and support. The cabins have bunk beds, personal storage areas, and nearby modern restroom facilities with hot showers.
The living setup encourages teamwork and bonding—campers decorate their bunks, share cleanup duties, and build friendships that often last far beyond summer. At night, the cool mountain breeze and peaceful sounds of nature make it easy for everyone to rest and recharge after a day full of activity.
Meals
Dining at Sky Lake is lively, social, and satisfying. Meals are served in the camp’s large dining hall, where everyone gathers for home-cooked food and community time. The camp kitchen prepares hearty, balanced meals with kid-friendly favorites like pasta, tacos, and fresh fruit.
Vegetarian and allergy-sensitive options are always available, and the food staff accommodates dietary restrictions whenever possible. Mealtime traditions include songs, skits, and laughter — a reminder that food at camp isn’t just about eating; it’s about being together and sharing the day’s adventures.
Safety
Safety is a top priority at Sky Lake Yosemite Camp. The camp maintains a low camper-to-counselor ratio, ensuring attentive supervision across all activities and living areas. Every counselor and staff member undergoes extensive safety training, including first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures.
Adventure activities, including swimming, boating, and archery, are led by certified instructors who adhere to strict safety protocols. The camp’s location within the Sierra National Forest is well-monitored and protected, and staff are trained to respond quickly to any situation. Parents can relax knowing their kids are in capable hands from sunup to lights out.
Health & Medicine
Sky Lake’s Health Center is staffed by trained medical professionals available 24 hours a day to care for campers’ health needs. The medical team handles everything from daily medications and minor scrapes to coordinating care with local medical facilities if necessary.
Parents complete health forms before camp begins, enabling the staff to prepare for any allergies, special dietary needs, or chronic conditions. The camp emphasizes proactive wellness—hydration, sunscreen, rest, and handwashing—to keep campers healthy and ready for fun throughout the week.
Camp Traditions
Tradition is part of Sky Lake’s heartbeat. Campfires, songs, “Spirit Days,” and lakefront events make up a rhythm that generations of campers remember. Each night brings something special: talent shows, themed dress-up nights, or all-camp games that bring laughter and camaraderie.
Friday evening brings one of the most beloved traditions—a lakeside candle ceremony, where campers reflect on their week, share memories, and feel connected to something bigger than themselves. These shared experiences create the sense of belonging that keeps kids coming back year after year.
