Overview
This summer, the melodious hum of Stokes Forest will echo with the harmonious tunes of the Stokes Forest Music Camp. A fusion of music and nature, this camp is no less than a symphony that brings together intense music-making sessions, environmental studies, and fun recreational activities.
Initiated in 1992, the camp's mission is to foster individual self-discovery and self-confidence through the disciplined study of music, while fostering an appreciation for the surrounding natural environment. The rhythm of the forest and the melodies crafted in the music sessions complement each other, creating a harmonious blend of learning and enjoyment.
The camp's curriculum, developed by the Preparatory Center for the Arts, a division of the esteemed John J. Cali School of Music at Montclair State University, embraces students of all ages, backgrounds, and levels of ability. The Preparatory Center, established in 1976, has been a musical beacon for many, serving as an enrichment platform for some and a comprehensive training ground for others who have ventured into music careers.
The camp is deeply committed to providing students with an encouraging environment that promotes creative growth and instills a lifelong understanding of musical arts. So, if your kids are passionate about Performing Arts, Singing, Theater, Country Music, or Music in general, this camp in the heart of Stokes Forest might be the perfect summer destination. A summer spent here is a summer spent in harmony with nature and music.
