Campers move through a varied day of hands-on projects, active games, creative work, and group challenges. Summer@Stratford’s school-age Day Camp is designed for rising first through fifth graders, with weekly activity blocks that mix science and nature exploration, STEAM projects, visual and performing arts, sports, games, and teamwork. The program gives children several different ways to participate during the same day rather than keeping them in one subject for hours at a time.
The Day Camp model is organized around five recurring activity themes: Discover, Play, Create, Wonder, and Learn. Children may build, experiment, make predictions, draw, paint, take photos or video, join performances or discussions, play outdoor games, solve board-game or team challenges, and work with peers on open-ended activities. Stratford also offers academic, specialty, and sports camp choices, so the wider summer program can include focused subjects such as math, robotics, literature, creative writing, arts, and athletic skill-building.
A sample Day Camp day begins with arrival and a camp gathering, then alternates creative, academic, physical, and social activity blocks with recess and lunch. Optional extended care is offered after the regular camp day. Program offerings can vary by campus, and Stratford notes that camp selections may change.
