This creative hub offers a kaleidoscope of programs, from Performing Arts and Theater to Visual Arts, all designed to stimulate young minds and encourage artistic expression. The camp experience combines an intensive focus with a fun environment where students can immerse themselves fully in the arts. This is not just a summer camp, but a vibrant community of like-minded individuals, bound by a shared passion for the arts. The NIU Jazz Camp is a haven for budding musicians, where they engage in rehearsals, concerts, and classes to hone their jazz performance and improvisation skills. The week concludes with a grand camper performance, showcasing their newfound skills. For those captivated by the visual arts, the camp offers in-depth studio sessions in drawing, painting, and 3-D art. Campers work on innovative projects, and receive guidance on careers and portfolios from nationally-known artists. The week ends with a camper art exhibition, where the fruits of their creative labor are displayed. The Theatre Arts Camp Junior and Senior offer a platform for thespians to flourish. Campers have the opportunity to perform or crew in the all-camp production and develop specialized skills through individual coaching and group activities.
