Venice Surf Camp offers a focused, beach-based program centered on skill development, ocean confidence, and outdoor fun. The atmosphere is energetic yet supportive, helping campers feel comfortable in the water while staying motivated to learn. What makes this camp stand out is its ultra-small group format, pairing just three campers with each coach for maximum attention and steady improvement.
Surf coaching anchors each day. Campers practice paddling efficiency, pop-ups, balance, and wave selection with clear, step-by-step guidance. Instruction adapts to individual comfort and ability, so beginners gain confidence quickly while more experienced surfers refine technique and consistency. Progress is visible session by session—and celebrated.
When not surfing, campers stay active with beach games, playful challenges, and guided ocean exploration that builds awareness of tides, currents, and conditions. These activities keep energy high and reinforce respect for the ocean. The day feels adventurous without being overwhelming, thanks to a smart balance of instruction and play.

Sunrise Surf Academy follows a preventative lifeguarding approach, focusing on awareness and control to reduce risk before problems arise. Each camp session is supported by at least one Red Cross–certified lifeguard with advanced CPR training and several years of real ocean lifeguard experience.
Instructors stay close to campers in the water at all times, carefully managing spacing and movement to help prevent collisions. Coaching teams are trained to work in a coordinated way, maintaining constant visual contact with both campers and ocean conditions. Clear organization in the water allows instructors to respond quickly and calmly when adjustments are needed.
All instructors actively communicate with on-duty beach lifeguards using established hand signals, creating a strong connection between camp staff and local safety teams. This coordinated system helps maintain a controlled surf environment where campers can focus on learning and building confidence, knowing that safety is always the top priority.
The Venice Surf Camp program blends focused surf coaching with full beach immersion. Campers spend substantial time in the ocean each day, working one-on-one within tiny groups for personalized instruction and rapid improvement.
Surf lessons emphasize technique, confidence, and wave awareness, with immediate feedback that helps skills click faster. When conditions allow, campers extend water time to practice and enjoy their progress. Between surf sessions, beach games and group challenges keep the day lively while reinforcing teamwork and fun.
Ocean exploration activities build comfort with coastal conditions and deepen respect for the environment. The program balances challenge and enjoyment, encouraging campers to embrace the learning process. Session photos document progress and add to the excitement.
