The Young Peoples Center For Creative Arts

For families with a budding Broadway star in their midst, the Young Peoples Center for Creative Arts is a veritable playground of talent development. With a strong emphasis on music and performing arts, this camp offers a well-rounded and engaging program that hones in on every child's unique creative spark.Each day kicks off with a Morning Watch, followed by a medley of workshops chosen by the campers themselves. Past options have ranged from the toe-tapping Show Choir and Music Theater Chorus to the hilariously entertaining Comedy Improvisation. The camp also offers more niche workshops like Monologues, Audition Seminar, and even Jewelry Making. By the end of their stay, campers will have participated in four different workshops, each one adding another string to their creative bow.But the highlight of the camp is undoubtedly the daily rehearsal for a grand musical. Last year, the campers brought the house down with "The Circle of Life" from The Lion King. This year, they're rolling back the years with the Broadway classic, Grease. These rehearsals, though filled with vocal work, choreography, and blocking, also offer ample downtime for campers to socialize and forge new friendships.And let's not forget the all-important lunch break, where campers bring their own lunch (juice provided) and enjoy a half-hour of outdoor games under the sun.
