Songs, dances, and short scenes bring young performers together at Trinity Theatre Company Camps. Children explore theater through guided practice and games, then share their work in a showcase for family and friends. Acting, singing, and movement form the core of the experience, with improvisation workshops adding another way to explore performance.
The school-break camps welcome ages 5–12 for three full days of activities. Participants learn the basics of acting and work toward a final stage presentation. The program suits children who enjoy performing, making music, or bringing a scene to life with others. Both newcomers and children with theater experience can take part.
Camp takes place at the company’s Miramar theater in San Diego. Trinity Theatre Company is a nonprofit arts organization with youth classes, productions, and camps. Its camp teaching artists guide participants through performance skills, with an emphasis on working together and expressing ideas on stage.

Each school-break camp runs for three days and brings acting, singing, and dancing into a shared performance project. Teaching artists use direction and games to introduce the basics of acting. Participants learn songs, dances, and short scenes as they prepare work to present together.
The session ends with a showcase on stage for family and friends. This gives the group a clear goal for its camp activities and a chance to share what it has practiced. Regular camp hours run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with an optional extended day from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Thanksgiving and winter-break programs follow this three-day format for ages 5–12.

Office staff, teaching artists, artistic team members, and volunteers undergo interviews, Live Scan fingerprinting through the Department of Justice, and certified child-abuse protection training. Team members serve as mandated reporters.
The company’s safety policy prohibits harassment in person and online. It also includes ongoing training to help staff, volunteers, and students build healthy relationships and prevent harm.
Experienced teaching artists lead camp workshops. The company’s teaching team includes performers with theater and musical theater degrees. Arts Education Director Megan Goyette holds a master’s degree in education and has directed, choreographed, and musically directed youth productions. Artistic Director Sean Boyd has a theater arts degree and a master’s degree in teaching.
