Overview
Embark on a journey of exploration at the Virtual Model United Nations Institute camp, where young minds dive deep into the fascinating world of global politics, leadership, and diplomacy. This is more than just a summer camp—it's a microcosm of the UN itself, where campers aged from 11 to 17, embody the roles of world leaders, grappling with pressing global issues.
This camp is a true melting pot, inviting bright, curious minds from over 40 countries, fostering a diverse and global learning environment. Every day is a stimulating challenge, pushing students to negotiate, debate and find solutions to intricate global problems. These experiences are crafted to hone public speaking abilities and boost self-confidence, all while guided by dedicated mentors who are seasoned veterans of college-level Model UN.
The camp's virtual platform stretches from July 8th to August 2nd, operating from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm US Eastern Time each day. Campers are encouraged to step out of their comfort zones, representing countries and viewpoints often different from their own, fostering empathy and understanding.
The end of the week sees a transformation in these young leaders: improved communication skills, soaring self-confidence, and a broader perspective of the world. But the learning doesn't stop there. Many campers return to their schools, leading their local Model UN clubs, and some even go on to elite colleges like Harvard, Yale, and Princeton. In essence, the Virtual Model United Nations Institute camp goes beyond being a summer activity—it's a stepping stone to a future full of potential. It's the place where tomorrow's leaders are born, ready to make their mark on the world.
