The 4-star Hotel Auffacher Hof is located in the village of Auffach, next to the Schatzberg lift, which leads to the main ski area of the resort. Unlike other villages in the region, from where skiers take a free shuttle bus to this station, you don't have to waste time travelling. This is a definite advantage, especially if you are holidaying with young children.
The hotel itself is very nice and cosy, it has been managed for a long time by an Austrian family. Apart from the ideal location, it is worth noting the clean and tidy rooms decorated in a modern or traditional Tyrolean style, the quality food with vegetarian or dietary options, the well-equipped relaxation area with several types of saunas, water beds and a steam room. Unfortunately the hotel does not have a pool.
Children can relax in the small games room during their free time. The proximity of the Auffacher Hof to the Schatzberg lift station helps diversify your activities - be sure to go for a 5 km toboggan run, which starts at the middle lift station. You can borrow a sledge from the nearby toboggan service. If you're planning to send your child to ski school, the Hochtal Wildschönau Ski & Snowboardschule will be glad to help. Its office is just 50 metres from the hotel, near the ski lift station.
