Accommodation
Alpine Retreat & Camp offers a variety of lodging options to suit different groups. For youth and church-group camps, traditional cabin spaces provide simple, rustic housing, helping campers feel immersed in the forest. For more private or leadership-style lodging, the camp offers leadership cabins — including Creekside A & B, Acorn, and Willow Brook — with comfortable amenities such as private restrooms or kitchenettes. These options give guest leaders, speakers, or families a peaceful place to rest and reflect in a quieter part of camp.
Meals
Meals at Alpine are served in a dining hall, where groups gather to eat and fellowship in a relaxed, communal atmosphere. The camp works to offer food that’s both delicious and nourishing, emphasizing hospitality so that campers feel cared for both physically and spiritually. Alongside meals, there is a drink station offering a variety of hot and cold beverages to help campers stay refreshed throughout their stay.
Safety
Safety is a cornerstone of Alpine’s design. The camp offers a “challenge by choice” high-ropes course along with a zip line and rock-climbing tower — but participants are never forced into anything beyond their comfort. All adventure elements are staffed by trained guides and operate under strict safety protocols, including appropriate gear and supervision. On-site leadership ensures that both programmed activities and free time are closely supervised, offering a structured, yet flexible, retreat environment.
Health & Medicine
All participants at Alpine must complete a health history screening within 24 hours of arrival, and this form must be submitted to the camp’s health supervisor. There is a medical waiver acknowledging that some activities — such as zip lining, climbing, or swimming — carry risk, and that participants are required to follow all safety instructions and use safety gear properly. The camp’s policies emphasize personal responsibility: everyone must be in a physical and mental condition that allows safe participation.
Camp Traditions
Alpine Retreat & Camp has a rich tradition of faith, challenge, and community. Each summer or session typically involves evening fire-circles, where campers gather under the sky to worship, share stories, and reflect. Chapel services are woven into the day, providing moments of teaching, prayer, and song. The camp’s “challenge by choice” philosophy is a tradition in itself: participants are encouraged to test their limits, but never to feel pressured. Team-building initiatives foster trust, courage, and teamwork, allowing campers to stretch themselves in a supportive Christian community.
