Since its inception in 1977, the Armenian Youth Federation Summer Camp in California has been a hub of excitement, friendship, and cultural immersion for Armenian youth. This haven of joy and learning annually welcomes youngsters aged seven to seventeen from across the United States and the globe, making it a multicultural hotspot that embraces diversity.The camp's rich tapestry of activities ranges from traditional sports to more adventurous pursuits. Children can expect to engage in activities such as canoeing, swimming, and archery, with rock climbing and basketball serving as the cherry on top for thrill-seekers. The artistic ones can indulge in arts and crafts, adding hues of creativity to their summer experience.But the camp isn't just about fun and games. It's a platform where the young generation can delve deeper into the Armenian history and culture. Through the week-long sessions held throughout the summer, children can learn about Hai Tad, the Armenian Cause, and build lifelong friendships, thereby creating memories that are sure to be cherished for a lifetime.The AYF Summer Camp has grown immensely over the years, expanding from one week to eight and hosting over 900 campers from its modest beginnings of 35. Yet, it has remained true to its roots, keeping alive its trademark traditions like Wacky Olympics, Educationals, Butt Volleyball, Quiz Bowl, Egg Toss, and Steal the Bacon.At the heart of this camp is a purely volunteer staff, committed to ensuring that every child's summer is unforgettable. The AYF Summer Camp is more than just a summer escape; it's a home away from home, a place for cultural enlightenment, and a playground for the young and adventurous.
