Accommodation
Valley Trails Tarzana is a day camp and does not offer overnight accommodations. Campers arrive each morning and return home at the end of the day. The program is designed to deliver a whole camp experience during the day, combining structured activities, breaks, and group time.
Daily routines help campers settle in quickly and feel comfortable throughout the day. Counselors support smooth transitions between activities, creating a predictable flow that works exceptionally well for younger campers. This format allows kids to enjoy a full day of camp fun while still sleeping at home.
Meals
You may choose to send a sack lunch, or purchase a lunch on non-field trip days. On field-trip days, campers are required to bring a sack lunch (except for the Tweens on the Move, who can purchase meals while on trips). If you wish to order lunches, the menu will be provided in the weekly Parent Newsletter.
Safety
Safety is built into the daily structure at Valley Trails Tarzana. Trained counselors supervise campers during activities, transitions, and free-play periods. Clear rules and routines help maintain an organized and secure camp environment.
Activities are planned to be age-appropriate and are actively guided by staff to promote safe movement and positive behavior. Group sizes allow counselors to stay attentive and provide support when needed.
Emotional safety is also a priority. Campers are encouraged to be respectful, supportive, and inclusive. Counselors help resolve conflicts and ensure every child feels comfortable participating, trying new activities, and building friendships.
