Overview
Imagine a camp where not just the scenery is top-notch, but where each interaction and every activity brims with care, intention, and personal connection. Picture a summer escape named Camp Living Stones, where the focus is far more than s'mores and sing-alongs; rather, it delves deep into the essence of faith and fellowship.
Camp Living Stones allows for a limited number of campers each week, capping at roughly one hundred during the peak summer months. This strategy by design lends itself to something special - an intimate camp experience. A small population of campers transforms the camp from a vacation spot into a warm, close-knit community, where every child is seen, heard, and spiritually nourished.
Drawing from Jesus' practice of embracing small, intimate groups of disciples, the camp has created a similar setup, forming small groups of twelve or fewer students. Each group is under the wing of a dedicated counselor, someone who isn't simply 'on-call' but who invests considerable time, energy, and heart into catering to their students. Indeed, even before campers arrive, counselors take the time to pray for each one by name.
From the moment the young campers step foot onto the campgrounds, their journey of personal connection begins. Counselors actively work to get to know them, creating an atmosphere that radiates care and connection. While Camp Living Stones offers the quintessential summer camp scenario, its true charm lies in its fostering relationships and reinforcing personal faith journeys. We like to call it a slice of summer heaven, minus the halo, of course!
