The Curry Summer Music Camp at Northern Arizona University is a dream destination for young musicians eager to elevate their craft while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of a college campus. With a legacy dating back to 1950, this camp has been a cornerstone for budding performers in choir, band, orchestra, jazz, and even musical theater. Participants will find themselves immersed in a dynamic schedule filled with ensemble rehearsals, master classes, private lessons, and specialized music courses. From conducting and leadership to jazz techniques and body mapping, the curriculum is as diverse as it is enriching. Campers also have the chance to audition for special recitals or showcase their talents in the finale concerts held at the prestigious Ardrey Memorial Auditorium. But it’s not all work and no play! The camp balances its rigorous music instruction with a host of fun activities, including talent shows, movie nights, dances, and even the famed Curry Olympics. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Flagstaff’s San Francisco Peaks, the camp offers an inspiring environment that fuels creativity and camaraderie. Led by NAU’s esteemed School of Music faculty and renowned guest artists from across the country, this program is open to students aged 12 to 18. Whether your child is an aspiring conductor, a jazz enthusiast, or simply looking to refine their skills in a supportive setting, this camp promises an unforgettable experience. It’s more than a music camp—it’s a celebration of artistry and growth.
