Meals
Iverbe at The Willows Community School Camp offers a convenient on-site lunch program with a variety of healthy and kid-friendly options. Campers can walk up to the camp café and choose their lunch, giving them a sense of independence while still keeping choices age-appropriate.
For younger campers, parents can share special requests or preferences with counselors, helping staff support children who may need extra guidance or reminders during mealtime. This approach keeps lunch relaxed and stress-free, especially for kids who are still learning routines around eating in group settings.
After lunch, campers enjoy a free-choice period that feels much like recess. Counselors organize casual games such as catch, tag, and three flies up, while also allowing kids space to unwind and socialize. This balance of nourishment, movement, and relaxed play helps campers recharge before transitioning back into structured activities later in the day.
Safety
Safety is an important part of the Iverbe camp experience. Campers are supervised throughout the day by trained staff who guide activities and monitor group interactions. Clear expectations are set at the beginning of camp to promote respectful behavior and safe play.
Activities are age-appropriate and designed to minimize risk while still allowing kids to explore and stay active. Staff remain present during transitions, games, and quieter activities, helping maintain a calm and organized environment.
Emotional safety is also a priority. Campers are encouraged to share ideas, ask questions, and try new things without fear of judgment. This supportive approach helps children feel secure, confident, and ready to participate fully.
