Accommodation
The camp offers authentic “camp-style” lodging in rustic cabins and small houses, primarily designed for children and youth. The cabins typically accommodate around 10 campers and are grouped in areas with nearby shared bathhouses. There are also smaller lodging options: a Lodge (sleeping 8-10) with bedrooms, a living room, and a bathroom, and the Simington House (sleeps up to 8) with bedrooms, an attached bathroom, a kitchenette, and a living room — ideal either for smaller groups or as a specialized facility. These accommodations support the camp’s community-living model: campers sleep together in age-grouped cabins, take part in daily life as a group, and build friendships in a shared space. The camper typically brings bedding.
Meals
The camp provides three well-balanced meals each full day and typically two snacks, enabling active children to stay fuelled for their busy schedule. Dietary accommodations are available when families note allergies or special dietary requirements during registration, ensuring that campers with dietary restrictions are well cared for. Meals are served in the dining hall, with staff who know that camp days are long, active, and require nourishment that’s both healthy and appealing to kids. This helps ensure that your child can eat well, stay hydrated, and enjoy the communal meal times as part of the overall camp experience.
Safety
Lazy W Ranch places clear emphasis on safe, supervised activity in an outdoor setting. Activity staff are trained and verified, and the facility is accredited to relevant camp standards. Lifeguards are certified, and staff are trained in first aid and CPR. Cabins and lodging are grouped for age-appropriate supervision, and the daily schedule includes rest, hydration and structured time. Parents are encouraged to confirm specific supervisory ratios, emergency plans, weather contingency, and staff certifications. Overall, the setting supports a vibrant program while keeping camp operations in line with recognized standards.
Camp traditions
At Lazy W Ranch the week isn’t just about activities—it’s community and tradition. Campfire marshmallow roasts and evening songs help the group bond under the stars; swimming and hikes give time for connection and fun; small “family group” sessions provide campers a consistent peer group and counselor team for the week. Worship, music and group reflection form part of the rhythm of the day, helping campers not only play and explore but also reflect and grow. These recurring traditions — shared meals, cabins, songs, campfire, reflection time—help children build memories, develop friendships, and feel part of something bigger than just drills or games.
