Learning Tree Summer Camp

Learning Tree Summer Camp

San Diego, CA, USA

Overview

A summer day can bring English writing, table tennis, cooking and a Friday outing into the same program. Learning Tree Summer Camp combines academic enrichment with sports and creative activities at a San Diego learning center. The range gives children several ways to take part, from working with words and numbers to making art or playing a paddle sport. The program has grade groups from transitional kindergarten through seventh grade.

Math, Chinese language, public speaking and coding sit alongside hands-on choices such as LEGO building and crafts. Sports include table tennis, pickleball and Kung Fu. Children who like a mix of classroom learning and active recreation can explore both within a full-day format. The weekly structure also includes optional field trips, with destinations ranging from science museums and an aquarium to trampoline venues and laser tag.

The camp is run by After School Learning Tree, an education provider established in 2004. Its combination of academic, creative and movement activities makes the program a practical fit for families seeking several interests in one setting. Parents select the weeks their child will attend and can add lunch service, Friday trips or designated elite activities. Separate grade schedules organize the summer program for younger and older students.

Program

Students take part in a weekly mix of academic classes, creative activities and movement. Separate schedules cover TK and kindergarten, first and second grades, third and fourth grades, and fifth through seventh grades. The academic side includes math, English writing and Chinese language. Public speaking, coding and robotics add further choices, while cooking and art bring practical and creative work into the program.

Sports and games are part of the same camp offering. Table tennis and pickleball appear among the standard enrichment activities, alongside mathematics, English writing, art, coding, chess and Chinese language. Families can also enroll in designated elite add-ons: chess twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays, or ice skating twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students who do not select those add-ons take part in the included enrichment activities.

Friday field trips are optional and require a separate signup. The weekly destinations include science centers, an aquarium, movies and active recreation venues. Families choose individual camp weeks on the enrollment form, then select any lunch service, Friday outings and elite activities for their child. This separates the regular camp program from optional additions.
