The Musical Theater program combines skill-building workshops with the practical work of rehearsing a complete production. Campers do not audition for admission or for a role. Teaching staff assign parts based on individual aptitude and comfort level, then guide the cast through the process of understanding the script, staging scenes, developing characters, and preparing the show.
During the morning, campers rotate through age-appropriate workshops in voice training, acting technique, and choreography or dance. Vocal work includes warm-ups, breathing, pitch, control, and phrasing. Acting and speech work covers technique, diction, projection, dialects, stage presence, improvisation, and physical comedy. The curriculum also includes TV commercial work, hip hop, show hosting, and script interpretation.
In the afternoon, the musical theater campers come together as a full cast and apply the morning techniques in rehearsal. The shared production gives campers a concrete place to practice performance skills while working with peers across the session. On the final day, the group presents its culminating musical theater performance for friends and family. The recital is free to attend, and the program does not charge separate production fees for items such as photos, video, microphones, sets, theater use, or tickets.
