Plunge San Diego Adventure Camp is an activity-packed day camp for children ages 5–12. The program is built around themed days and weeks, with a mix of water activities, outdoor adventures, creative projects, games, and attractions around Belmont Park. Instead of spending the whole day in one setting, campers move between activities, giving the program an energetic, varied feel.
Swimming is one of the main attractions. Campers have time in the Plunge pool and can use its award-winning obstacle course. The schedule also includes Belmont Park rides and attractions, with activities such as a rock wall, ropes course, laser tag, and miniature golf listed among the camp features. Dry-land activities include crafts, games, themed activities, and exploration of the beach, bay, and park.
The camp is particularly suitable for active children who like trying different things throughout the day. It can also appeal to campers who enjoy imaginative themes, group games, and new challenges. The program reinforces basic social, listening, and motor skills through interactive activities.
Age-based groupings help tailor supervision to campers' developmental stages. The staff-to-camper ratios are 1:6 for 5-year-olds, 1:8 for ages 6–8, and 1:10 for ages 9–12.

Accommodation
This is a day camp, so overnight accommodation is not provided.
The standard camp day runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Families can also choose extended care, with early drop-off available from 7:30 a.m. and late pick-up available until 6 p.m. Extended-care drop-off and pick-up take place at the Plunge Front Entrance outside the regular camp hours.
Campers can bring their own lunch, snacks, and water bottle. The camp also offers hot lunches for purchase. The camp's lunch options include hamburgers and cheeseburgers, cheese or pepperoni pizza, Caesar salad, and chicken tenders. A purchased lunch comes with a bottle of water or juice and a bag of chips.
Light snacks are included as part of the camp experience. The camp's packing list recommends bringing lunch, snacks, and a water bottle if a child will not be purchasing the hot lunch option.
Families should also note that the website does not describe special dietary menus or allergy-specific meal arrangements. Parents should contact the camp directly if a child has particular dietary needs.
Safety is supported through small, age-based groups and clearly stated staff-to-camper ratios. The ratio is 1:6 for 5-year-olds, 1:8 for campers ages 6–8, and 1:10 for ages 9–12. This allows staff to provide closer supervision, particularly for younger campers.
The program also uses a structured daily schedule, with check-in, morning group activities, supervised activity periods, swimming, lunch, attractions, cleanup, and pickup. This gives campers predictable transitions throughout the day.
The program is designed around active, hands-on experiences rather than a single specialty. Swimming and the Plunge obstacle course are combined with Belmont Park rides and attractions, outdoor exploration, crafts, games, and themed activities. Children can also take on challenges such as rock climbing, ropes courses, laser tag, and miniature golf. This variety lets campers switch between physical activity, creativity, group play, and exploration throughout the day.
A typical day begins with check-in and a morning circle before moving into themed dry-land activities. Campers then spend time swimming and using the obstacle course, followed by lunch and an afternoon at Belmont Park. The day closes with cleanup and a group pickup period.
Extended care is optional.
The camp offers military, member, and sibling discounts, subject to stated conditions. Discounts cannot be combined, and the sibling discount applies to weeklong sessions.
