Children spend camp time on the tennis courts in a level-based pathway that ranges from Red, Orange and Green Club groups to Academy and Première training. The summer camp menu at Rancho Peñasquitos separates players by ball color and development track, with Club options for recreational advanced beginners and intermediate players and higher-performance Academy and Première options for players who meet placement requirements. Player placement considers age and level, using age-appropriate equipment and progression based on technique and tactical competencies rather than simply moving to the next ball color.
The camp is a day program at RPTC's outdoor tennis facility in Canyonside Community Park. Camp groups run Monday through Friday in half-day blocks, with morning, afternoon and evening times depending on the selected pathway. The broader Academy pathway adds tennis-specific fitness and requires evaluation or approval for higher-performance groups; Première is for ages 11–18 and is designed for players pursuing college-level or professional tennis goals who compete regularly.
RPTC has 12 hard courts with lighting for evening play, and its junior program combines on-court instruction, play, fitness and conditioning. Families can choose a track that matches a child's current tennis level, from Club pathway training through advanced Academy and Première options, while registration and placement remain specific to the selected group.

Camp options follow the player-development structure used in RPTC and All Court Tennis Academy junior programming. Club is the recreational pathway for advanced beginners and intermediate players, with placement based on age and level of play. The Academy pathway is high performance and moves through Red, Orange, Green and Yellow stages. Academy entry requires evaluation or approval, and the broader pathway expects regular clinic participation, private lessons with an ACTA coach and tennis-specific fitness. Première is the most advanced pathway, for ages 11–18 with a minimum UTR benchmark and regular USTA/ITF competition.
Summer camp scheduling is divided by group. Red, Orange and Green Club players use a morning block. Academy 5/6 and Première use an afternoon block, while Academy 3/4 and Yellow Club use an evening block. RPTC's camp is organized as a Monday–Friday half-day tennis program. These separate blocks allow campers to train with players in a similar stage of the development pathway.
Across junior programming, coaches use age-appropriate equipment and focus on technical and tactical competencies. Junior training combines on-court instruction and play with fitness and conditioning. Placement and advancement are based on player development rather than age alone, and higher-performance groups carry additional evaluation and participation requirements.

RPTC operates with supervision coverage whenever the facility is open and keeps the club closed until a supervisor is on site. Access is not permitted during closed hours. Campers participate within the staffed tennis facility, with these facility-wide operating rules in effect during open hours.
The tennis program is led through RPTC and All Court Tennis Academy coaches. Director of Tennis and ACTA founder Aurelie Udall is a certified tennis professional with more than 20 years of coaching experience across junior and high-performance settings. The coaching roster also includes certified professionals with collegiate, international and player-development backgrounds. Academy placement uses coach evaluation and approval, while RPTC's junior program encourages families to communicate with coaches about a child's progress and skills to work on outside class.
Families can direct summer camp questions to the program manager. RPTC's junior program also encourages parents to communicate regularly with their child's coach about progress and skills to work on outside class. Registration for camp is linked through CourtReserve, while program questions are handled through the tennis program team.
Camp takes place at Rancho Peñasquitos Tennis Center in Canyonside Community Park. Summer tennis blocks run Monday through Friday, with the selected pathway determining the time of day. Registration is handled through the linked CourtReserve system. A full-day option combines the half-day tennis camp with Maggie's Art Camp at the Canyonside Recreation Center; the art camp requires separate registration. Families should choose the tennis pathway that matches the child's current placement, and Academy or Première options may require evaluation or approval before enrollment.
