Young designers move from ideas on paper to clothing and accessories they can actually wear. The camp centers on hands-on fashion making: campers build inspiration boards and color stories, draw fashion illustrations, learn hand and machine sewing, work through garment construction, add embellishments, and explore styling. Digital fabric printing is also part of the broader STITCHED experience, giving campers another way to turn original artwork into material for fashion projects.
The program is designed for a range of skill levels. Beginners can learn the basics without prior sewing experience, while campers who already sew can work at a pace that matches their experience. Projects are created for the campers themselves, so measuring, fit, personal color choices, and individual design ideas become part of the process. Current program details also describe a four-look illustrated collection and one or two wearable pieces, such as a top, skirt, dress, or shorts.
The week combines focused studio work with a social, collaborative format. Campers bring their own lunch and eat together as a group. On the final day, the work comes together in a camper-organized fashion presentation for family and friends. Campers may model their designs or display them creatively, giving the week a clear finish: original ideas developed into finished pieces and presented as a personal collection.
