Spend a week learning about parrots alongside the resident flock at Free Flight Exotic Bird Sanctuary. Summer Parrot Camp combines hands-on bird education with familiar camp activities, giving young bird enthusiasts time to explore how parrots live, communicate, eat, and receive care in a sanctuary environment. The program is organized in separate age groups for children ages 7–10 and 11–14, with each group attending a three-hour daily block.
Campers explore avian habitats, diets, communication and behavior, conservation, and the practical needs of companion parrots. Learning takes place in the company of Free Flight’s resident birds, connecting lessons to real animals and the sanctuary’s education mission. Parrot-themed games, crafts, and other activities add a creative camp element, while the older age group is designed for deeper exploration of bird topics.
The setting is an operating exotic bird sanctuary with an outdoor tropical environment, resident parrots, a koi pond, parking, and wheelchair access. This program is especially suited to children who are curious about birds, animal behavior, conservation, and responsible parrot care, as well as campers who enjoy combining science learning with games and creative projects.

Each camp group attends for three hours a day over a Monday-through-Friday week. The younger and older age groups meet in separate time blocks, allowing the program to focus on bird learning at an age-appropriate pace. Camp content centers on parrots and the sanctuary environment rather than a broad mix of unrelated activities.
Children investigate avian habitats, diets, communication and behavior, conservation, and the work involved in caring for companion parrots. The resident flock gives campers a direct connection to the subjects they are studying. Alongside the educational content, the program includes parrot-themed games, crafts, and activities, creating a balance between structured learning and traditional camp fun.
Official program descriptions for older campers indicate deeper exploration of parrot topics, with more complex projects, critical-thinking and teamwork opportunities, and additional development of parrot-handling knowledge. Across the program, the emphasis remains on understanding birds, their needs, and their conservation while spending time in a working exotic bird sanctuary.
Camp takes place at Free Flight Exotic Bird Sanctuary. The sanctuary has parking directly in front of the property. The visitor information notes that there is no public restroom. Camp questions are directed to the organization’s summer-camp contact; parent contact details and registration links are kept outside the public Camp Card text.
