USBA Chula Vista Summer Camp

USBA Chula Vista Summer Camp

Chula Vista, CA, USA

Overview

USBA Chula Vista Summer Camp is a four-day baseball skills camp for players ages 7 to 14. The program is run by U.S. Baseball Academy, which operates baseball training programs across the country. This Chula Vista camp is directed by Jose Silva, a former professional player with the Toronto Blue Jays and Pittsburgh Pirates organizations.

The camp is designed for kids who already enjoy baseball and want to keep improving during the summer. It focuses on proper fundamentals and technique, with instruction across key parts of the game. Hitting and defense are the main focus in the morning, while the afternoon adds a more competitive feel with situational baseball games, competition drills, and a Wiffle Ball World Series.

The atmosphere is active and skill-based, but still built around fun. Campers get coaching, repetition, and chances to apply what they learn in game-like settings. The low player-to-coach ratio is an important part of the format because it allows more attention than a large open-play camp.

This camp will likely interest rec league, Little League, travel team, and developing players who want a structured baseball environment. It is best for kids who are ready for a full day of baseball activity and enjoy both instruction and friendly competition.

Accommodation and Meals

Accommodation

USBA Chula Vista Summer Camp is a day camp. It does not offer overnight lodging, dorms, cabins, or residential supervision. Campers attend during the day and return home after the daily program ends.

The camp runs from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Thursday. Daily check-in begins at 8:45 AM. This schedule gives players a full baseball day while keeping the commitment shorter than a full residential camp week. It also makes the program better suited for local families or families already staying in the Chula Vista or San Diego area.

Because this is not an overnight camp, families should plan all transportation, drop-off, and pick-up.

Meals

Lunch is not provided at USBA Chula Vista Summer Camp. Because the camp runs from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, campers will need food during the day, and families should plan accordingly.

Camp traditions

USBA Chula Vista Summer Camp includes several competition-based features that give the week a camp feel beyond regular drills. The Wiffle Ball World Series is the most distinctive one. It gives kids a lighter, playful way to compete, swing, run, and enjoy the game after more focused instruction.

Prizes are awarded to winners, adding a fun goal for campers who like friendly challenges. Every participant also receives a T-shirt and camp certificate, so each child leaves with something connected to the experience. These simple take-home items help mark the week and give campers a sense of completion.
