VAMPY

Take a journey with us to the Summer Program for Verbally and Mathematically Precocious Youth (VAMPY), a three-week-long exploration of intellectual discovery and personal growth. Held at the renowned Center for Gifted Studies at Western Kentucky University, VAMPY has been a beacon of summer learning for the past 26 years. Crafted for the gifted minds who have showcased their talents on the ACT or SAT in 7th grade, VAMPY is more than a camp - it's a haven for young, curious minds. It's a place where youngsters can delve deep into a subject of their choice, relishing the joy of learning and the thrill of mastering new skills. The camp offers a smorgasbord of subjects, ranging from Forensic Chemistry and Nazi Germany to Twentieth Century Poetry and Computer Science. Not your run-of-the-mill classes, these sessions are bolstered by field trips, invigorating material, and instructors who breathe life into learning. The experience doesn't stop at the classroom door. VAMPY is also a vibrant social hub where friendships blossom and memories are made. Under the watchful eyes of residential counselors, campers participate in outdoor activities, enjoy a banquet and dance, and form bonds that stand the test of time.
