Food and Drink
The boutique hotel offers a buffet breakfast, which is either charged separately or included in the room rate at the time of booking.
Breakfast is served in the lounge from 6.30am on weekdays and from 7am on weekends and public holidays. The menu is typical of German hotels and includes fresh fruit and vegetables, sliced meats and cheeses, freshly baked bread, a variety of cereals and sausages, egg dishes, hot side dishes, milk, tea, coffee and freshly squeezed juices.
The breakfast atmosphere, like the whole hotel, is more like a friendly get-together than a hotel morning. A takeaway coffee service is available for those in a hurry.
During the day, you can enjoy a snack, a cup of fragrant tea with pastries in the lounge bar, while reading the latest press, chatting with other guests or finding a partner for a game of chess. The bar's interior is reminiscent of a private club, where the emphasis is on emotional dining rather than filling the stomach.
As an alternative to the cuisine at Hotel friends Düsseldorf, there are plenty of restaurants and bars in the area. There is a stylish Chinese lounge bar a few metres from the hotel entrance and an Asian restaurant a little further on. There are also Italian restaurants and traditional German pubs.
You can buy food for your in-room dining or breakfast at a nearby supermarket, such as Kaiser. Remember that most of Düsseldorf's grocery stores are open until 9-10pm. On Sundays, you'll have to walk to the supermarket at the train station to do your shopping as most shops are closed.
On site restaurants and bars:
- Purple Lounge & Bar — continental breakfast, drinks, cocktails, light snacks.
